Doors are clad in the same panelling, paint or veneer as the surrounding wall, with minimal shadow gaps and concealed hinges. Push-to-open latches remove visible handles, so the opening reads as a continuous wall until it is used, preserving the clean architecture of the room.
Pivot and heavy-duty concealed hinges are selected for the combined weight of the door, shelving and books. Clearances are engineered so the bookcase swings without catching, and magnetic catches hold it firmly closed, creating a convincing secret room in homes across Dubai.
Gas-piston wall bed mechanisms lift and lower with minimal effort and lock securely in both positions. Surrounding cabinets, shelves or a fold-down desk turn the bed wall into useful joinery, letting a single room serve as guest suite, office or gym in apartments in Dubai.
